The first team is still in the Premier Division while the Reserve Team is in division Three Central and East. There are currently ten former Monarchs Juniors in the Squad and two of them have recently been called up by the first team which is the ultimate aim. The Season So Far: Following their strong finish to last season the first team management recruited well and the squad bought into their ambitions for the new campaign of aiming to win the title or at least a promotion position. So far it’s a dream start of 12 wins and 2 draw from 15 league games which sees them 6 points clear at the top of the table at the halfway stage of the season. Player Manager Luke Wallond has been rewarded with the October ‘Manager of the Month’ award. He has also been selected for the league’s Rep Squad to play the Essex Olympian League along with four of his teammates, Dan Mitchell, Nathan Bertrand, Dan Ashton and Josh Brown to highlight their form to date. The league rep side defeated Essex 3-2 with Wallond scoring the opening goal. “I started sponsoring the club in August after an old friend of mine who works at the club asked me if I was interested. My brother and I go along, and the team are doing well at the moment. There is a lot of youth coming through which is great for the community. Keep up the good work – you’re doing great and everyone is behind you.” David Charge, Yew Tree Construction 84 Issue 81 The Bull Inn has comfortable surroundings, simply oozing the ambience of years gone by.
