Alnwick Town FOLLOW US ONLINE TWITTER.COM/FOOTYFOCUSMAG Alnwick Town FOOTBALL CLUB Alnwick Town FC’s men’s first team suffered the disappointment of relegation last season but they have been working hard to build a strong relationship between the different sections of the club. This, coupled with the successful ladies section at the club should mean that they can look forward to a bright and successful future. Football Focus Magazine recently caught up with their Secretary Mick Keane to find out more about the good work being carried out at the club. He told us, “The mood at the club is very good as this year has seen closer co-operation between the junior and senior sections with one management committee overall.” “Our U17s squad provides a bridge between the junior and senior sides i.e. the development and 1st team. The junior teams are progressing well with the Ladies continuing with their success from last season. We are now looking to continue to build on the relationships between juniors and seniors, which is proving to be successful so far. There is close co-operation between the respective managers to ensure a smooth path is established. The plan for the future is to have something in place for girl/ladies football. Youth football is absolutely vital to us as it is a great conduit to develop players to feed into our senior squads and beyond. 34 Issue 81 “This is the start of Alnwick Town Ladies second season, which sees us play in the NERWFL following winning the Northumberland County League last term. In our first season we also won the Northumberland County League Cup and reached the 1st round proper of the SSE Women’s FA Cup. This season
