FOOTBALL CLUB
Alnwick Town FC’s men’s first team suffered the
disappointment of relegation last season but they have
been working hard to build a strong relationship between
the different sections of the club. This, coupled with the
successful ladies section at the club should mean that they
can look forward to a bright and successful future.
Football Focus Magazine recently
caught up with their Secretary Mick
Keane to find out more about the good
work being carried out at the club.
He told us, “The mood at the club is
very good as this year has seen closer
co-operation between the junior and
senior sections with one management
committee overall.”
“Our U17s squad provides a bridge
between the junior and senior sides
i.e. the development and 1st team. The
junior teams are progressing well with
the Ladies continuing with their success
from last season. We are now looking to
continue to build on the relationships
between juniors and seniors, which is
proving to be successful so far. There
is close co-operation between the
respective managers to ensure a smooth
path is established. The plan for the
future is to have something in place
for girl/ladies football. Youth football
is absolutely vital to us as it is a great
conduit to develop players to feed into
our senior squads and beyond.

Northumberland County League Cup
and reached the 1st round proper of
the SSE Women’s FA Cup. This season
