Blackfield and Langley
FOOTBALL CLUB
Blackfield and Langley FC has enjoyed plenty of success in recent
times and are now working hard to continue to progress. Football Focus
Magazine recently caught up with Club Representative Claire Sinclair to
find out more about how they have been getting along lately.
Involvement
Claire told us, “I first started attending
Blackfield & Langley games twenty
years ago when we were in the
Hampshire League – they are
my local club, my dad was
Secretary at the time – and
he is Secretary now!
I have been Chair
for the past two years,
Secretary for three years
prior to that. I have also
been Welfare Officer,
programme editor, bar
worker and run the social
media accounts in my time
with the club – not much I
haven’t done during my time
really.”
The Role
“The biggest challenge for us is that
we are a small club in a small village out in the
38 Issue 86
sticks on the edge of the New Forest run by volunteers
– it’s a huge challenge to get spectators through
the gates and volunteers to assist and
therefore, we are working with
very limited resources. There is
a lot expected of me so it’s a
huge task being able to get
everything involved in the
smooth running of a Club
done as a volunteer whilst
working full time. Regular
sanity checks required!
It is rewarding being
part of a very established,
hard-working
and
dedicated committee and
seeing everyone’s hard
work come together at the
end of a successful season.
Or indeed two!”
Atmosphere
“I think we’re all still in shock! No-
one (including ourselves) expected us to do so
