We work towards your goals of minimising your construction risk. T: +44 (0) 1753 684508 F: +44 (0) 1753 682130 W: www.mitchellson.co.uk entered a ground share agreement with local rivals Baldock Town who also play in the South Midlands League Premier Division. We also have a thriving Petanque club on our grounds with well appointed “courts” and indeed we hold international events in that particular sport. We also host Bedfordshire darts and they regularly hold county matches in our large function hall. Our aim remains to have a football match at home each week and have other sports on at the ground when we can. Despite the drop in level on the football field we try to maintain our standards and we operate as we have always have done and we maintain our board room hospitality to the same standards as before and also try to maintain these same standards on the pitch although that can be difficult at times. I have found to some surprise that the general standard of football at this level is pretty good with some very good players so it has the advantage of some good games each week without the long distance travel that is the norm at higher levels. We are always looking for help in the running of the club with the myriad of jobs that continue to present themselves to us and we are always looking for 28 Issue 84 people who can bring their own skills to bare to push the club forward in present and new directions. We as the committee that run the club continue to do so on a purely voluntary basis at all levels. Looking forward; with the FA change in the rules governing the change in dressing room size that is the seasons hot topic in non-league circles we will have to do some fairly major rebuilding to retain our “C” grade which is by far the highest in this league and more than the league above us, but we realise that to get promotion back up the pyramid we will have to carry out work on the officials dressing room size which is just a little too small for the new requirements. The ground is also in need of some modernisation and future proofing and to carry out these tasks we have put a course of action in place to generate the funds that will be necessary before we can even start to look for grants and funding from other sources hopefully within the FA. We are also looking at projects outside of Football to try to provide skills and motivation to young people who have had a difficult start in life. We hope all of these plans will fall into place in the next few months, securing football and a centre for the community at Arlesey for the foreseeable future.
