sleep deprivation and weight loss; Is there a connection?

It may seem very farfetched, but sleep deprivation does play a big part in affecting your metabolism. Chronic sleep deprivation can cause weight gain because it affects the way our body stores carbohydrates. Sleeping only a little also alters hormones in your body, affecting our appetite and thus, preventing weight loss. It has also been observed in studies by MayoClinic that women who slept less than six hours a night or more than nine hours were more likely to gain 5 kilograms compared with women who slept seven hours a night. In addition to altering hormones, lack of sleep leads to fatigue and results in less physical activity.

My recommendation to you: Sleep 7-8 hours every night with no distractions and you’ll definitely see the difference in your energy levels!
