R esidents and visitors in the Town of Mount Pleasant, SC, will enjoy plenty of holiday cheer the weekend of Dec. 6 with a variety of fun free family events including an outdoor movie, farmers market and craft show and parade of lights. The weekend begins on Friday, Dec. 6, with the 2nd Annual Holiday Movie at Park West Rec Complex. In addition to bringing their gigantic outdoor movie screen, Cinebarre will be grilling delicious hamburgers and hot dogs complete with all the fixings. T&T Kettle Korn will have warm, fresh-popped corn available and Charleston Festival Foods will be cooking up funnel cakes and other goodies. Next, shoppers will have the perfect opportunity to check off their lists with unique handcrafted gifts, locally grown produce and homemade food at the 14th Annual Holiday Farmers Market and Craft Show on Saturday, Dec. 7, at the Farmers Market Pavilion on Coleman Boulevard. This annual tradition is a favorite community gathering place offering a wide variety of locally grown winter vegetables, fresh baked goods and prepared foods alongside art ranging from ornaments, pottery and glasswork to whimsical crafts and clothing items to original art and photography. The fun continues on Sunday, Dec. 8, as the 18th Annual Mount Pleasant Christmas Light Parade showcases 100 beautifully lit floats and marching groups who proceed up Coleman Boulevard from Shem Creek to the Sea Island Shopping Center.
