Tuna with
Japanese Salsa
You can prepare the Japanese Delight Tuna Salsa with
lots of vegetable and fruit fills. This recipe is great for
family outings, especially when you are camping.
INGREDIENTS
2 tuna steaks
1 tbsp crushed garlic
Salt and pepper
2 tbsp vegetable oil
1/4 cup sake
2 tbsp soy sauce
3/4 cup finely chopped tomatoes
2 tbsp finely chopped green onion
1 tbsp fresh finely chopped cilantro
1 tbsp lemon juice
1-2 peeled avocados thin sliced
DIRECTIONS
ºº Rinse the tuna in fresh water
and pat dry with a paper towel.
Spread the crushed garlic and
salt on both sides of the tuna
uniformly. Keep aside in a bowl.
ºº In a separate bowl, mix the
tomatoes, cilantro and green
onion. Add the lemon juice, sake
and soy sauce. This is the salsa.
ºº Fry the tuna on the frying pan with
vegetable oil until the sides turn
mid-brown. Make sure the heat
does not roast the pan beyond
that. Once done, spread the sauce
on all the sides of the tuna steaks.
Take the tuna off the stove and let
it cool for about 2-3 minutes. Cut
the tuna into thin, vertical slices.
ºº Garnish with the salsa
and avocado.
