Podfather Helps Salvo 1968 Deliver a Safe and Reliable Food Supply
The UK’ s first online Italian food wholesaler and distributor, Salvo 1968, is using Podfather to improve efficiencies and boost customer service across its delivery operation. A family inspired business, with decades of heritage and sector experience, Hertfordshire-based Salvo has seen an increase in vehicle efficiency, evidenced by a 25 percent reduction in fleet size, after rolling out the logistics solution. Since originally implementing Podfather, Salvo has also expanded geographically with depots in Brighton, Bristol and Manchester, and added to its product offering with a new frozen food category.

Salvo originally introduced Podfather a number of years back, but it wasn’ t until a recent change in management that the software, which includes route planning and optimisation features, electronic proof of delivery evidence( ePOD) capture, and real-time ETA notifications and tracking, was used to its full potential effectively. Following a review of internal workflows and processes, the new management team has implemented upgraded handheld devices making them easier to use, has introduced new software and solutions that are integrated with the Podfather workflows and has reengineered how Podfather sits within the business.
