A few weeks ago the Child Programs Team was faced with a significant crisis: no longer able to rely upon our Kids Café food vendor to provide healthy, adequate and safe food in a timely manner. A decision was made to terminate the contract with the vendor. This meant that without a new vendor identified, 2,200 children could miss lunch and snacks every day. While many people miss lunch occasionally, some of these kids arrive to their programs without breakfast, so missing lunch has a much greater impact. Taylor Hanna, Tasha Johnson, Cindy Serrano, Terry Clark, Nicole Fillion-Robin, and Alicia Farhat all worked around the clock to ensure that appropriate resources (funding and food) were obtained to feed the children while searching for an adequate vendor. The team worked with Danny Foreman, Beverly Eskridge, Chef James, and the Hutchins crew to feed everyone for 1.5 weeks without fail. While the kitchen assembled all of the food boxes, program staff loaded their cars and delivered food to all sites. A special shout out to Jeanne Clark for helping to find emergency funds! An example set by all of great problem solving and teamwork.

I want to give a thumbs up to the PAR Team for a successful Partner Agency Summit. We had an attendance of 232 this year!
I also want to thank the entire PAR Team for welcoming me, and working together as a team to support all of our Partner Agencies.
