mobile chair to "drive" the few blocks from her home to Brother Bill's each month.

"Thanks to Brother Bill's I always have food," says Shirley. She loves the whole wheat pastas and the produce she gets from Brother Bill's because she knows they are healthy for her, but she says they're usually too expensive to buy herself.

Shirley says she's grateful to Brother Bill's and NTFB for helping her make ends meet each month.

"Life was hard before I found this place," says Shirley.

When Shirley arrives at Brother Bill's Helping Hand, she's greeted with hugs from volunteers. Most of the seasoned Brother Bill's volunteers know Shirley by name, and they share stories like old friends.
