Most important, DONT BE AFRAID OF FOOD. Food is a friend and ally— we cannot do without it. But we can abuse it, misunderstand it, not listen to what our body tells us after we eat it. Only thereby do we turn it into an adversary. Now let’ s see how we can expect our body to react to a change in diet. * The technique for accessing feelings and subconscious information via body sensations has been explored in depth by Eugene Gendlin, Ph. D. He found that people who respond most successfully to therapy invariably tuned in to their body feelings in some way and used the feedback to chart and correct their course of action. He emphasized that this skill is for“ everybody in all of life’ s situations.” See his book Focusing for a clear and cogent discussion of this technique.
