From the desk of
the Director
Dear Reader,
We hope that you enjoy reading the autumn
issue of Focus SWW.
We really enjoy creating these magazines
for our readers and have been really
encouraged by the number of people (both
professionals and members of the public)
that read our seasonal E-mag. Creating
things like this is a part of our representative
function. We work with our members and
a wider range of professionals to educate
the consumer about some really important
issues that you may face when writing your
Will.
With autumn comes the sad realisation
of colder times to come. To many, it also
means celebrating time with family and
looking forward to events like Halloween
and bonfire night. I’m loath to use the festive
word yet but with shops beginning to bring
in their ‘festive’ ranges it does make people
start to think and plan for the holidays.
Spending time with the family really does
show us that time is precious and all too
often we take it for granted. Understanding
how precious time is often acts as a
driving force for someone writing their Will.
Throughout this issue we will be focusing
on issues like Intestacy and what would
happen if you or a family member died
without a valid Will.
As always our friendly team are on hand to
help you with any questions you may have.

Alternatively you may wish to speak to a
member of the Society of Will Writers. Our
members all carry professional Indemnity
Insurance and adhere to our Code of
Practice making them safe to do business
with. Joining the SWW is a choice they
make to give you confidence in working
with them.
I, along with the rest of the team here at
the Society of Will Writers wish you the very
best this autumn and encourage you to
make the most of every bit of family time.
When you decide to have your Will written,
if you haven’t already, feel free to ask any
questions you like. An honest and trusted
practitioner will happily give you the time
you need and help you plan your estate
succession. Remember, it’s better to have
something in place and not need it than
fail to plan and leave friends and family
picking up the pieces.
