Technology is no stranger to the catwalk. From models wearing Google Glass in Diane von Furstenberg's New York Fashion Week show in 2012, to Diesel Black Gold developing bespoke versions of Samsung's Gear S smartwatch for its own NYFW show last year, designers are increasingly looking for ways to incorporate high-tech elements into their collections.
Now British designer Henry Holland has teamed up with Visa Europe to combine fashion, wearable technology and payments for the first time. At his London Fashion Week show on 19 September, he demonstrated how a tiny NFC chip embedded in a ring similar to those used in contact less debit cards could be used to purchase items directly from the runway.
"A really big thing for me was making the tech invisible, especially if Iām incorporating it into something as important as my show. From my point of view it was really about creating two items ā the ring and the brooch ā that were really desirable pieces that people would want to wear themselves, but just happened to have those capabilities," Mr Holland told The Telegraph.
Using all Adobe apps
When using adobe I found it difficult
to use as it was a complicated system until you learn to use it. I persevered and watched lots of YouTube video to understand how to use it. Once i understood how to use it I found it easy and I finished a great final piece of work.
