Welcome to America ’ s National Capital Region
As we celebrate the holidays and usher in a new year , the teams at Dulles International and Reagan National airports are dedicated to providing a safe , enjoyable passenger experience .
Exciting changes are on the horizon for both airports . As you head down the Dulles runway you may notice out the window Dulles ’ new 14 gate concourse under construction . Representing best practices in airport design and amenities , it is sure to delight passengers when it opens in 2026 . This new concourse is one of the first steps in our Dulles Next initiative , which is a 15-year construction program that includes $ 7 billion in airport infrastructure upgrades to make your journey more comfortable , convenient and pleasant .
At Reagan National , the DCA Reimagined project is adding new restrooms , expanded and elevated seating options , retail stores and restaurants , including the recently opened Capital One Landing , a 5,500-square-foot eatery designed in collaboration with Michelin-starred chef José Andrés .
Wherever you ’ re traveling , our airline partners can take you there for a great winter getaway . This issue of FlyWashington features skiing and snowboarding holidays that include excellent dining and a variety of great adventures . Few trips can compare with a ski holiday in Chamonix , France , the quintessential European ski adventure . Sundance , Utah , Big Sky , Montana , and Steamboat Springs , Colorado , also offer unforgettable ski vacations in the United States .
When most visitors think of Washington , D . C ., they think about the Federal Triangle , an iconic swath of our nation ’ s capital filled with history and culture . In this issue , you can read about this bustling neighborhood — with landmark government buildings such as the White House , prestigious museums and some of the city ’ s best restaurants and historic hotels — which features prominently in popular culture and American history .
If you are feeling the urge to bundle up and enjoy the crisp cool air of winter , the National Capital Region is home to many outdoor rinks from November to March . Some come with breathtaking backdrops , such as sculpture gardens and Potomac River views .
This issue also features a variety of other great getaway suggestions near and far :
Greenville , South Carolina , is a vibrant city known for its blend of urban sophistication and natural beauty , with a vibrant culinary , brewery and wine hub .
• Hawaii remains a vacation mecca and the perfect winter getaway . The island of O ’ ahu , surrounded by the emerald-green cliffs of the Ko ’ olau Mountains , features jaw-dropping natural beauty and a rich history as the seat of the Hawaiian monarchy .
• London offers the excitement and creativity of live music that runs deep in the city ’ s contemporary history . And not far away in Dublin , visitors can take part in the spirited energy of Irish dancing that is beloved around the globe .
• The name Casablanca evokes romantic imagery in architecture that blends history and modernity . The city is a living canvas of Moorish , Art Deco , and modern Islamic styles , offering visitors a unique glimpse into Morocco ’ s rich cultural heritage .

All these destinations can be reached easily with non-stop flights from our airports . Our airline partners are regularly adding new destinations , and customers now can use our websites to conveniently book visits to 345,000 tourist attractions around the world through the online booking company Viator . We encourage you to take a look .
