Dulles is getting a new concourse !
A new state-of-the-art Concourse E is being built to add capacity , convenience and comfort to Dulles . The new facility will have plenty of spacious and comfortable seating areas , 46,000 square feet of concessions space , a 40,000-square-foot airline club and easy AeroTrain access .
Construction started in 2023 and the project is estimated to be ready for passengers in 2026 . We are proud to share that many sustainability initiatives are at the heart of this project . These include LEED Silver certification and features such as LED lighting , high-efficiency climate control systems and support for electric vehicles to service aircraft and carry passengers , demonstrating a commitment to a greener future .
JAIMINI ERSKINE AWARDED 2024 CONCESSIONS PERSON OF THE YEAR
Congratulations to Jaimini Erskine of the Metropolitan Washington Airports Authority ( MWAA ), who won the 2024 Concessions Person of the Year award from Airports Council International – North America ( ACI- NA ) — the trade association representing commercial service airports in the United States and Canada . The award recognizes an airport professional who significantly improved the North American concessions industry . Since joining MWAA in 2022 , Erskine has led the complete redevelopment of DCA ’ s and IAD ’ s concessions and marketing programs . Various awards were given out on June 12 in Miami , and they recognize airports , concessionaires and industry business partners for elevating the traveling public ’ s experience .
