BLOSSOMS, BALLGAMES, AND WATERFRONT FUN
Each season at the Navy Yard offers new activities. As winter ends and spring begins, restaurants such as The Salt Line begin to set up their patio furniture, creating outdoor seating overlooking the Anacostia River and the Frederick Douglass Memorial Bridge.

Petalpalooza at Navy Yard is an ideal celebration of the city’ s famous Cherry Blossom trees and welcomes spring. This free, familyoriented event features several stages with live music, art displays, and brand activations.
Summers in Navy Yard feature outdoor yoga and meditation classes near the marina. Bars and restaurants along the Capitol Riverfront offer relief from the heat with live music, karaoke, and game nights. Walk past Canal Park to hear children shrieking as they run through the dancing fountains. Remember, baseball season spans from spring to summer, with the Nats hosting at least 80 home games.
Although the trail is open all year, the summer breeze and trees along the Anacostia Riverwalk Trail make it a perfect time to be outdoors.
DINING
Navy Yard boasts a fabulous dining scene. If you can’ t snag a coveted reservation at Chef Michael Rafidi’ s Albi, a Michelin-starred restaurant serving reimagined Palestinian cuisine, there are plenty of other options. On a casual night, pop into Puerto Rican restaurant La Famosa for a bowl of Mofongo, mashed fried plantains topped with meats and seafood. Venture deeper into the neighborhood to take a seat at Any Day Now, where global classics are reimagined as American diner fare, such as miso mac and cheese or bacon, egg, and cheese fried rice.
