ARLINGTON’ S ITALIAN ACCENTS

It may surprise even longtime residents of Arlington, Va., but the county once had a“ Little Italy.” It was simply a makeshift settlement of Italian quarrymen. At its peak, from around 1910 to the late 1930s, about 30 workers and their families lived there in small homes along the banks of the Potomac River.
