Youth Art Walk at Dulles

This year , Dulles is adorned with a unique sight — a vibrant display of students ’ artwork . Amidst the hustle and bustle , travelers will be delighted to spot cheerful colors and a variety of subjects , all part of the distinctive Youth Art Walk exhibit .
These young artists are not just excited ; they ’ re bursting with pride ! They ’ re thrilled to share their creativity with you through the artwork installation , which is now on display in the airport ’ s Youth Art Walk . members , school administrators , and community members joined the students to recognize their achievements and creative endeavors .
Speakers at the celebration included Richard Golinowski , Manager of Dulles ; Pamela Danner , Board Chair of the McLean Project for the Arts ; Aaron Stratten , Art Education Specialist at Fairfax County Public Schools ; and Tanisha Lewis , Airports Authority vice president for Diversity , Inclusion and Social Impact .
Over 40 unique and colorful works of art created by elementary and high school students from Fairfax County public and private schools are center stage in this exhibit on the ticketing level at Dulles , across from the U . S . Transportation Security Administration ’ s Pre-Check checkpoint .
The Airports Authority is committed to fostering a vibrant cultural environment . The program collaborates with various organizations , including Fairfax County Public Schools and the McLean Project for the Arts , to provide space for short-term exhibits featuring student artwork .
The Youth Art Walk at Dulles is a similar program to the previous initiative at Reagan Airport . The McLean Project for the Arts is a leading contemporary visual arts 501 ( c )( 3 ) nonprofit incorporated 60 years ago . Among others , its mission is to exhibit the work of emerging and established artists from the mid-Atlantic region .

LEGO MODEL OF DULLES INTERNATIONAL ON DISPLAY AT AIRPORT

A LEGO model of Dulles International Airport , a testament to the dedication and passion of Richard Paules , a Washington D . C . resident , is now on display in the airport . Over a span of nine months , he meticulously crafted the 62-year-old main terminal using approximately 50,000 LEGO pieces .
“ Dulles was the first airport I ever flew out of , and I ’ ve always been inspired by it ,” said
Richard Paules , builder of the LEGO model . “ With LEGO , anything is possible .”
Paules didn ’ t stop at the main terminal ; he added the historical tower , a mobile lounge , and a space shuttle , all elements associated with Dulles International .
“ Richard Paules , with his meticulous attention to detail , has beautifully captured the architectural essence of Dulles ,” said Richard Golinowski , the vice president and
Dulles International Airport manager . His work is a testament to the recognition and appreciation we have for this iconic building in the Washington , D . C . area .”
Passengers and visitors are cordially invited to explore the intricacies of LEGO Dulles , located in the airport ’ s main terminal by the west security checkpoint on the departure level .
