the road again soon, this time playing a part in the second“ Wonder Woman” film that is currently in development with Jenkins and Gadot, due to begin shooting later this year and hit theaters in November 2019.
“ Lynda... has been a great mentor and a dear friend,” Patty Jenkins told“ Entertainment Tonight” at the Palm Springs Film Festival in early January 2018.“ We actually desperately tried to get her in the first one, and we had the scheduling that couldn’ t work, so she’ s always been a part of our‘ Wonder Woman’ family. We won’ t say anything yet [ about her appearing in the next movie ], but there’ s no lack of trying.”
That idea is just fine with Lynda Carter, who has always embraced her career-defining role of the Amazon woman who became a heroine to generations of girls( and grown women, too). She’ s even saved two of her original red, white and blue costumes from the original television show, with each one earmarked for each of her children to cherish.
“ Wonder Woman is a great thing. I love Wonder Woman. I love playing her,” she says.“ But it is strange, it’ s very strange [ to be an American icon ]. My father— he’ s 95— will sometimes say,‘ You know, sometimes I just can’ t get over how famous you are.’ And I say,‘ I know, Dad. I know. I can’ t either.”
