Like many of us, Lynda Carter loves seeing the
world and experiencing new cultures, but one
element of travel really gets her down. “I am
grateful for every mile I have traveled, even
though I hate to pack!” she chuckles. But the
veteran actress-singer has cleverly figured out
exactly how to solve that problem, revealing
her simple secret to making taking a trip a
much easier process.
“I am such a well-worn traveler that I
always have a bag packed that has all of my
essentials, all the things that I could need,”
she explains. It’s a suitcase that is always
ready to go, and never gets unpacked at
home, only replenished. “I have an extra set
of all the makeup and hair products and all
that stuff I need, that takes so long to figure
out that you actually need [when you pack],
like putting extra contacts in the bag, all that
kind of stuff that’s so easy to forget.”
Carter won’t have to pack her bags for the
first stop on her 2018 singing tour that will
showcase her new album, for she’ll perform
at the Kennedy Center’s Terrace Theatre on
March 17. But then she’ll hop a plane back to
Hollywood, for shows on March 23 and 24 at
the Catalina Jazz Club and will then continue
on with performances at the Appel Room at
Jazz at Lincoln Center in New York City April
20 and 21 and the Franklin Theater in Franklin,
Tennessee, on April 28.
She’ll need her suitcases again at some point
in 2018, for she is scheduled to receive her
long overdue official star on the Hollywood
Walk of Fame this year. She’ll also be doing
promotion for her next upcoming film,
“Super Troopers 2,” so those two events
could easily coincide in late April, when
the much-anticipated comedy arrives in
megaplexes everywhere.
“I’m reprising my role [from the 2001 movie] as
the governor and it is hysterical. It’s so funny,”
she giggles. “I am really excited about it!”
She’s excited, too, when it comes to the
huge popularity of the “Wonder Woman”
feature film and the attention that has once
again come her way as the original creator of
the iconic role. Carter joined director Patty
Jenkins and star Gal Gadot for the film’s
premiere, although she did not appear in
the movie. But that may just change when
it comes to the next installment, as rumors
are swirling that Carter will probably be on
Lynda Carter
