In the Kid’s Pull, teams compete to see who can pull a big red dump truck, provided by 123Junk, the fastest. The cost is $10 per child, and you can register at the event on event day, starting at 11:30 am. All participants get a Kid’s Pull t-shirt. Whether your kids are competing or just coming out to play, there’s a Kid’s Zone with a bounce house, games, music, and dunk tank for all-day fun. DULLES 5K/10K ON THE RUNWAY The Dulles 5k/10k on the Runway is the flattest, fastest race course in the area, with 2,500 runners and walkers competing in either the 5k or 10k challenge. The race begins at the Steven F. Udvar-Hazy Center (located in Chantilly, Virginia, and part of the Smithsonian’s National Air and Space Museum) and continues onto a runway at Dulles Airport, but don’t worry, no planes will be landing on that runway. Get a unique look at the airport grounds, while running past planes and along the actual landing strip on this certified looped course. Water stations throughout the course keep competitors hydrated, and all proceeds benefit Special Olympics Virginia, the Committee for Dulles Community, the Committee for Dulles Community Outreach, and the Washington Airports Task Force.
