HONORING OUR NATION

As America celebrates its 250th anniversary, Reagan National and Dulles International have transformed their terminals into patriotic gateways, welcoming travelers with pride, history, and photo-worthy displays. These features act as navigation landmarks and immersive experiences, making a strong first impression on visitors arriving in the capital region. The airports are part of the larger America 250 celebration, a nationwide event commemorating the 250th anniversary of the Declaration of Independence.

One of the most eye-catching features is the oversized airport call-letter displays. The DCA and IAD letters are painted in bold red, white, and blue, with stars and stripes that instantly evoke the American flag. At Reagan National, the DCA display is located post-security in National Hall near the American Express Lounge and South Security checkpoint. At Dulles International, the IAD display is located in the Main Terminal at the East Security Mezzanine entrance. These displays have become popular spots for travelers to stop and take photos before starting or finishing their trips.
