Xu, Haolun
Bio: Haolun Xu is 24 years old and was born in Nanning, China. He immigrated to the United States in 1999. He was raised in central New Jersey and is currently studying Political Science and English at Rutgers University. Transitioning from a background in journalism and activism, he spends his time between writing poetry and the local seashore.

Statement: Similar to the way a painter puts paint on a canvas, writing in itself is the manifestation of imagination. Writing is a way of communicating that imagination from one mind to the other. When we put down our thoughts on paper, they no longer belong to us alone anymore. Instead, we are now giving our thoughts to the world. Many are inspired to write by the world itself, so the best way to repay this kindness is to give the world inspiration.
