We’ ve Got The Beat

It’ s been said that music gives a soul to the universe. If what they say is true, Florida’ s Historic Coast is riddled with spirit.
The St. Augustine Amphitheatre, situated in tranquil Anastasia State Park, welcomes top national and international touring acts such as Robert Plant, Alabama Shakes and the Steve Miller Band. This outdoor concert venue has a seated capacity of more than 4,000 and
Wobbly Toms has repeatedly been named one of the best in the world by industry expert Pollstar. The Amphitheatre’ s unique Backyard events, which feature up-and-comers and lesser-known bands such as Guantanamo Baywatch and Protomartyr, are popular with the locals. These shows are often times free or low cost and include extras like food trucks, samplings from the local distillery and brewery and non-profit educational forums.
If you’ re looking for a more intimate venue highlighting singer-songwriters and the like, head to Ponte Vedra Concert Hall. North of the Nation’ s oldest city along scenic A1A, PVCH( as it’ s known) previously served as a church and has been perfectly converted for concerts and entertainment. PVCH welcomes award-winning artists spanning every musical genre including The Psychedelic Furs, Robert Randolph and George Winston. It has standing room for 900 and offers family-friendly events as well as stand-up comedians and performing arts.
Florida’ s Historic Coast is a haven for musicians. There is no shortage of live music at hundreds of bars, restaurants, and pop up stages. In the summer months, weekly free concerts take place in St. Augustine’ s Plaza de la Constitucion and the St. Johns County Beach Pier Park. The summertime Sing Out Loud Festival offers weeks of free entertainment for residents and visitors alike.
No matter what you add to your Historic Coast itinerary, live music is bound to cross your path.
