Music in the Park Featuring Suitcase Gypsies
Anastasia State Park is hosting a concert series in partnership with Island
Beach Grill. Each concert will begin with an open jam session from 5-6 p.m.
Guests and local musicians will be welcomed to the stage to showcase
their talents. Each month will feature a different local musician or band for
a two-hour show at the beach pavilion, and this month’s performance is by
Suitcase Gypsies. Concerts are from 6-8 p.m. Concerts are free with paid
park admission, which ranges from $8-$2. Island Beach Grill will be featuring

Changing of the Guard
At 6 p.m., see history come to life when 18th century Spanish soldiers march
down St. George Street from the Colonial Quarter to the Governor’s House
Cultural Center & Museum where they perform authentic military drills before
firing an exciting volley of musketry. The event features the St. Augustine

Castillo by Candlelight: Preserving the Past
In honor of National Park Week, visit the park for an after-hours event
from 6-8 p.m. where you will meet with park rangers and volunteers as
they share with visitors what they do to help protect our national treasures.
Interpretation, maintenance, law enforcement, administration, natural
resource management, volunteers and partners all play roles in keeping
places like the Castillo protected/preserved for future generations.

Drake’s Raid
The English corsair, Sir Francis Drake, and his raiders return to St. Augustine
for an authentic re-creation of the 1586 sack of the city. Join Drake and his
raiders from 9 a.m.-5 p.m. for the 16th century-style military encampment at
the Fountain of Youth Park located at 11 Magnolia Ave.; regular park admission
applies. There will be drills, demonstrations and living history interpretations.
The re-enactment of the sacking and burning of the town will be at 7 p.m. in
the old city, beginning at the City Gate on Orange Avenue and ending in the
