Ancient Dunes Trail Hike
Enjoy a guided hike through ancient dunes shaded by a maritime
hammock at Anastasia State Park from 1-2 p.m. Discover the park’s natural
communities while exploring this unique trail. Although only a mile long,
this hike is more challenging than our other trails due to the natural sloping
landscape. Meet at the Hilltop Picnic Area, near the parking lot. Suggested
items to bring are binoculars, comfortable walking shoes, a camera, drinking
water, bug spray and sunscreen. This event is weather permitting and
subject to cancellation. The hike is free with regular park admission, which

Dolphin Pa ddle on Salt Run
Join Anastasia Watersports and Marineland Dolphin Adventure for a fun-filled
interpretive paddle of Salt Run at Anastasia State Park from 4:30-6:30 p.m.
The event will start with 30 minutes of classroom discussion followed by 90
minutes of paddling. The cost ranges from $40-$25. 850 Anastasia Park Rd.,

Drum Runner Series Barrel Racing at St. Johns County Fairgrounds
Saddle up and head over to the St. Johns County Fairgrounds for monthly
barrel, pole and other timed speed horse events. The event is open to public
and free for spectators. Awards will be presented for each age group in each
event. The races begin at 5 p.m. at the St. Johns County Fairgrounds.

Florida’s Birding & Photo Fest
Florida’s Historic Coast is spreading its wings to present another great
year of birding and outdoor photography. The 2018 Birding & Photo Fest
will feature the return of festival favorites, world-class photographers along
with new professionals and instructors who will offer technical training
opportunities and more birding in-field programs than ever before. As always,
festival participants will benefit from insights and instruction from a collection
of upper echelon international nature and wildlife photographers, a group
that continues to solidify Florida’s Birding & Photo Fest as one of the premier
