Owl and Sunset Symphony
The Stetson Kennedy Foundation and St. Johns County Parks & Recreation will
present a sunset owl talk at the Beluthahatchee Park. Enjoy a sunset while learning
about the park’s unique history while listening to nature’s symphony. Hopefully owls
will join in. Bring your lawn chair. Admission is free and the talk is from 6-8 p.m.

The Expendables with Through the Roots and Pacific Dub at the
St. Augustine Amphitheatre Backyard Stage
California surf rock band The Expendables will perform their 10 th Anniversary release
album in its entirety live from the Backyard Stage at the St. Augustine Amphitheatre.
Joining The Expendables will be special guests Through the Roots and Pacific Dub.

GTM Research Reserve State of the Reserve 2018
This event hosted by GTM Research Reserve is intended to explore the ways in
which we make decisions as individuals and communities while the science to
inform those decisions continues to be investigated. There will be a panel that
will provide an opportunity to discuss this quandary as it applies to the coastal
changes Northeast Florida has experienced in recent years, including impacts
from Hurricanes Matthew and Irma. The event will have three main components: a
morning plenary and panel discussion, an afternoon series of scientific presentations
and an evening poster reception. Admission is free, and the event begins at 9 a.m.

Cathedral Festival
One of the area’s largest festivals features rides, games, bingo, a silent auction,
food, beverages, fireworks and local bands playing each day. The festival takes
place at the Mission Nombre de Dios beginning at 5 p.m. on Friday and noon on
Saturday and Sunday. Fireworks go off Saturday at 9 p.m., weather permitting.
