Belly Boats and Fly Fishing

5 Tips to get you ready

I have found float tube (Belly Boat) fly fishing to be a lot of fun. As we all know this sport was built for fly fishing. Let's talk about some basics for fishermen that are beginning to fly fish from their small personal watercraft.

Here are some simple tips:

Tip #1 - Take the righ tackle. Of course there's a lot of things to understand here as far as rod weight line weight and of course flies for the fish you are fishing for. The good thing is once you have the rod and line weights figured out the rest will fall into place. Also the actual take is very minimal so you will not be loaded up to much.

Tip #2 - Longer rods work better. There is often discussion

about what length rod works best for float tube fishing. This is one instance where most will say longer is better. The casting of a fly rod from a Float tube

make longer rods just that

much better.
