At the moment there are two main societies confirming the competence of trainers - Polish Psychological Association and the Association of Trainers NGO. The exact requirements that these institutions have to trainers applying for certificates they issue are available on the websites: www.ptp.org.pl www.stowarzyszeniestop.pl Plano A: Actually in Portugal there are 300.000 registered trainers in the National Trainers Association, though many of them use the activity as a second job, something else other than that person’s main job and many don’t actually work as trainers. Personally I’m critical about the methods to the determine a trainer. The portuguese law requires the 90 hours CCP certification, after which you’re considered to be a certified trainer. I believe that to be a good trainer, like being a teacher, it’s necessary to have not only the technical knowledge that is validated by the CCP but also the social and relational skills and to be able to adapt to different contexts of training, an example: training in the topic of Tourism in a vocational High School is completely different than doing it for long term unemployed adults or as professional training in a company. I believe that after a trainer achieves his professional competence certification, his social and relational competences are still to be determined. https://netforce.iefp.pt/pt-pt/wpg/Home/FPIF What is the duration, possible prices for certifications? POZNAN: It is difficult to define precise duration of the certification process. To receive a recommendation from the Polish Psychological Association (currently the most popular in Poland) you need to complete the appropriate training duration (min. 10 months - in our school: 230 hours of lessons), held interpersonal training and conduct yourself at least 10 two-day workshops in the area of developing soft skills. Two of them must be under the supervision of the recommended level II trainer and certified supervisor. A recommendation is granted by the trainers on the basis of secondary trainer and supervisor. The recommendation fee is about 550zł (140 euros) but it is not a complete cost that you have to pay. Besides paying for one of the program of Training for Trainers-cost around 1500 euros to get a recommendation from PTP you must be a member of the Association and thus pay the membership fee alon g with the registration fee (a total of 120 zł- 30 euros). For supervision, also you need to pay. The presence of trainer second degree and supervisor for training lasting 16 hours costs about 100-300 zł / h. (25 - 75 euros) Plano A: The CCP certification takes 90 hours and it’s pricing depends on the method. The price range goes in between the 225 to 300 euro, depending of the entity delivering it and there’s also the cheaper elearning method, that in this particular case I don’t think it answers effectively the learning necessities of trainer by not having the extremely useful in presence assignments and evaluations. 25
