As everyone would immediately reckon, this is the strangest title a film-maker
could think of for his/her movie. And of-course things like these can culminate
from the enigmatic Kubrick alone. The technical brilliance of this movie stands
out.
Though the story can be brought about in a sentence: a nuclear doomsday is
about to happen and men of high stature from the Soviet Union and the America
discuss the possibilities of mitigating the same, what elevates the status of the
movie is the way Kubrick brings in the satirical elements into a movie pertain-
ing to an issue of high confidentiality. The film is a must watch for avid fans of
Kubrick, and for those who enjoy dark and dull political satire.
THE BOY IN THE STRIPED PYJAMAS - 2008
This movie is set on the Nazi concentration camps during the period of the Ho-
locaust. The lead character, we must say, is the 8-year-old Bruno, son of the
commandant of the Nazi concentration camp. His family moves beside the Nazi
concentration camp, the reason for which is not known to the commandant’s
family. Bruno, being an adventurous kid explores the new home he has moved
into. This leads to the friendship between him and Shmuel, another 8-year-old
kid who lives inside the camp. The two kids owing to their age are unaware of
the reality behind the concentration camp. The film moves with the developing
friendship between the two kids. The climax is the standout notion of this movie
bringing about an entirely different frame of view of the Holocaust.
THE DEER HUNTER - 1978
This movie revolves around three friends from a small town in America and how
the US Vietnam war affects their lives. The war sequences are set just as the
backdrop of the movie while the main crux is about how the 3 of them enjoy deer
hunting as a leisure activity and how their infusion into war changes their lives
forever.
