Wes Anderson ’ s films are known for his distinctive use of colours and his narrative style . His films emphasize more on colour palettes . Most efforts in his films lie with the production designer and scenic designer . Anderson uses colors in his set and production design to create a world unlike known to the viewer . His production designer Adam Stockhausen , comes into the production with a specific set of colour palette relating to the mood of the film . Then using that palette they work off with the colours which work well in contrasting the presence of these colours . In an interview with Stockhausen , he revealed the following process behind “ The Grand Budapest Hotel ” –
