Day 1

From inspiring keynote presentations to thoughtprovoking discussions on AI, safety, sustainability, and electrification, Day 1 set the tone for two days of learning, collaboration, and innovation.
The Summit officially commenced with an inspiring keynote from John Maclean OAM. Sharing his remarkable journey of resilience and determination following a life-changing accident, John reminded attendees that challenges can be transformed into opportunities through perseverance, belief, and the power of connection. Eden Shirley demonstrated how AI can work alongside fleet professionals through a live conversation with an AI fleet coworker, while Ben Selwyn unveiled insights from the 2026 Corporate Fleets Insight Survey, showcasing how leading organisations are embracing technology and change to improve fleet performance and outcomes.
Delegates also explored the latest vehicle technologies from many of Australia ' s leading manufacturers, gaining valuable insight into emerging safety features, electrification, and fit-for-purpose vehicle solutions. The exhibition floor buzzed with activity as attendees connected with suppliers and discovered new innovations designed to support safer, smarter, and more sustainable fleets.
The afternoon sessions focused on some of the industry ' s most pressing challenges and opportunities, including fatigue management, grey fleet safety, intelligent fleet management, digital safety transformation, fleet electrification, and decarbonisation. Practical case studies and expert panel discussions provided attendees with actionable strategies to improve safety, reduce operating costs, and prepare their organisations for the future.
The day concluded with exhibition drinks, canapés, and the 2026 AfMA Fleet Management Awards & Networking Dinner, providing the perfect opportunity for delegates to strengthen existing relationships, forge new connections, and celebrate the achievements of fleet professionals from across Australasia.
