FLEETDRIVE be attributed to its 110kW variants of its Category A Model 3 and Model Y units.
Hyundai maintained its 7th place position from 2024 to 2025 with 1,459 units sold, down from 2,053 units. Mazda overtook Nissan for the 8th place spot, selling 1,242 units in 2025, only 18 units down from 2024. Korean automaker Kia placed 9th and sold 1,209 units in 2025, 5 units fewer than 2024’ s year-end sales. Finally, Nissan took the 10th place spot with 1,145 units sold, down 500 units from 2024.
THAILAND
Thailand’ s annual car sales improved 8.5 per cent, according to data from the Federation of Thai Industries( FTI). Thailand’ s 2025 Motor Expo drove sales for both December alone and the entirety of 2025. The event recorded over 75,000 vehicles, resulting in 75,121 car sales in December alone, 39.1 up YoY. Overall, Thailand’ s domestic sales for 2025 reached 621,166 units.
Passenger vehicle sales improved by 6.7 per cent YoY to 239,236 units. Commercial vehicle and pick-up vehicle sales reached 381,930 units, 9.6 per cent up from 2024. Pick-up trucks comprised 187,733 of commercial vehicle sales, down 6.2 per cent YoY.
Vehicle production exceeded Thailand’ s target for 2025. However, production still declined 0.9 per cent to 1,455,569 units YoY but grew 8.6 YoY in December with 113,855 units produced.
Production growth in December can be traced to higher BEV output with 24 per cent of these units sold locally and the remaining 76 per cent produced for export. On the other hand, ICE vehicle production decreased to 247,299 units, declining 29.1 per cent YoY. Production of hybrid vehicles grew 12.3 per cent YoY to 214,317 units while PHEV production jumped 116.7 per cent compared to 2024, resulting in 17,296 units produced. Lastly, EV production also saw a drastic improvement. Thailand produced 70,914 EVs in 2025, 632 per cent higher than 2024.
Though vehicle exports( CBU) in December grew by 11.3 per cent overall exports in 2025 reached 935,750 units, 8.2 per cent down from 2024. Thailand’ s vehicle exports for 2025 are valued at THB 622 billion or AUD 28.1 billion.
Toyota and Lexus collectively sold 230,038 units for the year and acquired 37 per cent of the market. The Japanese auto giant’ s sales grew by 4.4 per cent in 2025. Toyota’ s sales were largely driven by its Hilux, Yaris ATIV, Yaris Cross, Corolla Cross, and Fortuner models, which dominated Thailand’ s top 10 best-selling models of the year.
Following Toyota with a wide gap is Honda, which sold 73,942 units and acquired 11.9 per cent market share in 2025. The company’ s sales declined by 3.4 per cent YoY while its City and HR-V models were the country’ s 5th and 6th best-selling models respectively.
Placed at 3rd, Isuzu performed similarly with 73,465 units sold and 11.8 per cent market share acquired in 2025. Overtaken by Honda in 2025, Isuzu’ s sales dropped by 14.2 per cent with sales of its popular D-Max model reaching 51,268 units in 2025, falling 22.6 per cent YoY. The Isuzu MU-X model also made an appearance as the 10th best-selling vehicle with 12,404 units sold in 2025, down 7.1 per cent YoY.
Chinese EV maker BYD is cementing its foothold in Thailand’ s car market with 39,856 units sold in 2025. BYD claimed 6.4 per cent of these market and its performance vastly improved by 47.5 per cent YoY. Its Dolphin model proved to be popular, earning it a place as the 9th best-selling vehicle of 2025. The Dolphin sold 12,435 units in 2025, declining 7.1 per cent YoY.
At 5th place, MG also made a significant improvement in annual sales. In 2025, the brand sold a total of 27,007 units, 56.7 per cent up from the year prior. In the same year, MG acquired 4.3 per cent of the market, just slightly ahead of Mitsubishi.
