When asked how fellow pros can evolve alongside the industry , TJ replied with : “ Fleet professionals need to be open to change and willing to embrace new technologies .”
According to TJ , networking is key for the fleet industry to move forward along with the times . “ The more we engage with industry discussions , attend events , and learn from others , the better prepared we ’ ll be .”
Of course , implementing change would be nothing without drive . “ I want to be at the forefront of these changes and find ways to implement innovative solutions that drive efficiency and cost savings ,” he wrote . It ’ s not just dedication to his role as a fleet professional that is consistent , but also his commitment to innovation , learning , and continuous improvement — all of which are valuable traits for students , and most importantly , business leaders .
BUILDING COURAGE AND RELATIONSHIPS
The education he received from the diploma isn ’ t exclusively from the classroom , but the diploma graduate has also gained knowledge from his fellow student-professionals .
“ One of the biggest highlights was the opportunity to connect with other professionals who were going through similar challenges ,” he recalled . “ It was eye-opening to hear different perspectives on leadership and how various industries approach problem-solving .”
In fact , TJ ’ s no stranger to learning from others . “ I ’ m also passionate about leadership development , so mentoring and supporting others in the industry will be a big focus for me ,” he explained . The graduate is more than happy to extend what he ’ s learned inside and outside of the classroom . “ I ’ ve had great mentors throughout my career , and I want to pay that forward by helping others grow in their roles .”
For those in the midst of making their decision to pursue the diploma graduate , TJ puts it succinctly : “ Go for it .”
If you ’ re worried about putting too much on your plate , not to worry — he was in that position too , but he powered through . “ There were plenty of times I felt stretched thin between my job , my studies , and looking after my four kids , but pushing through and completing the course has been one of the most rewarding experiences of my career ,” he recalled .
Meanwhile , if you ’ re currently in the program and need some motivation , TJ has words of guidance for you too ! “ The key is to stay organised , set clear goals , and remind yourself why you ’ re doing it .”
