AI longer than you may think . Most fleet
within your fleet and business is not all that new — it has been around much
management , and in fact , software solutions , frequently use AI to help power analytics and insights for a wide range of datasets .
These “ behind-the-scenes ” AIs are wellcontained and have little impact on or danger to broader operations . They function within the solutions that power dashboards , reports , or other automated tools .
It ’ s the new wave of AI , the “ generative ” AIs capable of assessing complex data and constructing new interpretations , like ChatGPT , Midjourney , and Copilot , are causing headaches for operators globally .
These new generative AI models are brilliant tools , quickly providing low-level executive summaries , insights , or analysis of data sets and reports . However , they are also one of the greatest avenues for information mismanagement , introducing a purely human element – a user prompt .
An easy solution seems to avoid AI at all costs , but AI is too powerful a tool to ignore . The pragmatic approach considers how to guide adoption to create a walled garden that protects operations and reaps the benefits of these new tools .
