Future Outlook for Electric Mobility in Australia
Looking at the evolution of EVs in Australia , he is optimistic about the short-term challenges and long-term benefits .
He predicts initial challenges as industries adapt to new technologies but sees a competitive market flourishing in the midterm .
The long-term outlook is particularly promising as Australia aims to leverage its vast renewable resources to become independent of imported fuels , thus enhancing our national energy security .
Preparing for the Future , Today
In order to prepare for future mobility , he emphasises the importance of education and upskilling the industry .
“ We need to think about the technicians of the future . We need to be paying people more as they are no longer just mechanics , they ’ re electricians and they ’ re high-pressure gas plumbers .
“ So , we need to make sure that they ’ re encouraged to join the trade and they stay in the trade by getting paid the best money . Advocating for the technicians of the future for both electric and hydrogen vehicles and the infrastructure is one of my keen focuses now ,” he says .
Emission regulations are going to happen . Infrastructure is going to happen . Renewable energy is going to happen . It ’ s not going to happen without the people on the ground , the men , and the women that we need to keep our cars going and keep the energy supply systems up and running ,” he adds .
