L-Charge will be launching its commercial operation of the world ’ s first mobile , ultra-fast , off-grid EV-charging service in Amsterdam .
The main feature of the service is that the charger could be called up as a taxi service and charge an EV ( Electric Vehicle ) in any place on demand . The company will also consider investing in the city ’ s charging infrastructure soon .
According to a company representative , “ The company ’ s solutions remove the main obstacle for EV-owners in Amsterdam – the lack of a supercharging infrastructure – and offer companies from key sectors ( including leisure and hospitality , retail , car manufacturing , vehicle rentals , and fleet management ) unique advantages of joining the new ultrafast charging market , advancing their cost-effectiveness , resilience , and the ability to significantly enhance their sustainability credentials .”
Scottish and Southern Electricity Networks ( SSEN ) Distribution , SP Energy Networks and EV fleet and battery storage specialist Zenobē have worked collaboratively through Scotland ’ s Bus Decarbonisation Taskforce to produce guidance on how fleet operators can switch to electric .
It outlines how fleet operators can make informed technology choices and work with their network operator to enable the charging infrastructure required .
“ We are committed to helping power our communities to net zero and are sharing guidance that will help smooth the customer journey ,” said Andrew Scott , director of connections at SSEN .
“ We have announced that we will invest £ 4bn in our networks up to 2028 to create the modernised local electricity grids of the future ,” he added .
Nikola Corporation has recently announced the development of a new heavy-duty , 700 bar ( 10,000 psi ) hydrogen mobile fueler capable of direct fuelling hydrogen fuel cell electric vehicles ( FCEVs ).
“ Nikola has spent the greater part of two years developing a flexible mobile fuelling solution which cools and compresses hydrogen to rapidly fill 700 bar FCEV ( Fuel Cell Electric Vehicle ) heavy-duty trucks ,” said Nikola Corporation President and CEO , Michael Lohscheller .
“ Coupled with Nikola ’ s hydrogen tube trailer , with a capacity of 960 kg , Nikola ’ s mobile fueler can refuel customer trucks back-to-back . This will deliver flexible hydrogen fuelling solutions for our customers starting in 2023 and will complement Nikola ’ s permanent hydrogen fuelling stations which are being developed .”
