As we move to 2023 , Internet-of-Things ( IoT ) technology is likely to provide more robust data for fleet operators and managers allowing for meaningful changes to be made .
Mobile Payments
Physical fuel cards are slowly becoming a thing of the past . In the coming months , we ’ ll see more refuelling and charging stations upgrading their point-of-sale systems to accept mobile payments .
These cashless and card-less transactions offer both convenience for drivers and security for fleet operators . Technology such as biometrics authentication play a crucial role in eliminating fraud and data theft .
Moving forward , we ’ re likely to see contactless payment methods including mobile app , RFID ( Radio-frequency identification ) tech , and NFC ( near field communication ) tech spreading across servos and EV charging stations .
