The software took nine months to perfect and has been fitted in Country Fire Service , Metropolitan Fire Service , State Emergency Service , ForestrySA , and the Department for Environment and Water operations vehicles , across metropolitan and regional South Australia .
Emergency service vehicles are a vital part of any community . Not only do they provide critical services in emergencies , but their response time and situational awareness can be the difference between life and death .
With the ever-increasing demand for emergency services , it is more important than ever to have a way to locate and manage these vital resources .
With Netstar ’ s in-vehicle location technology , emergency service vehicles can now be tracked in real-time . The in-built SOS , crash and rollover function helps keep emergency service personnel as safe as possible in the line of duty .
Netstar ’ s AVL technology provides real-time tracking of emergency service vehicles , allowing dispatchers and field incident personnel see exactly where each vehicle is always . This information can be used to ensure that resources are deployed as efficiently as possible , and it can also help to improve response times .
The in-built SOS function can send instant alarms if an emergency service vehicle is involved in an incident . This feature provides an extra layer of safety for emergency personnel , who often put themselves in harm ’ s way to help others .
