But with better battery technology available today , modern EVs can drive up to 485 kilometers in a single charge depending on the model and brand you choose . Furthermore , public charging infrastructure are slowly being built giving EV drivers a chance to travel greater distances .
For example , Queensland ’ s electric superhighway provides 31 fast-charging sites , connecting Queenslanders and tourists travelling from Coolangatta to Port Douglas , and from Brisbane to Toowoomba in a low or zero emission vehicle .
