Never underestimate the importance of safety in the mobile workplace. 18 ISSUE 22 2020 / WWW.AFMA.ORG.AU Key changes to ANCAP testing protocols for 2020 • The number of physical crash tests increases from five to eight and now includes the frontal offset, full width frontal, side impact, oblique pole, pedestrian, whiplash and two far-side impact tests. • The frontal offset test configurations have changed from an Offset Deformable Barrier to a Mobile Progressive Deformable Barrier - the severity of the crash has increased with the introduction of a moving deformable barrier trolley as opposed to a static barrier. Vehicle compatibility is also assessed – penalising models with overly aggressive front structures that increase the risk of injury to occupants of the oncoming vehicle.
