I needed to identify whether my business idea would be popular, I couldn't rely on my own opinion. This is where market research came in to play.

I researched the sportswear market and looked at what different brands were doing and how successful they were. I looked at current trends and market information using websites such as WGSN and MarketLine. I needed to see whether there was space for a business like mine.

I conducted online surveys using survey monkey, containing ten questions, relevant to my business venture, that I sent out for people to answer.

From this survey, I saw that many people were interested in sportswear and wore it outside, as well as inside a sporting environment. They were also interested in my idea of a gym connecting app.

I used SMART targets at the end of each week to evaluate my performance, see if I was on track, and look to see if I needed to make any changes.

Conducting this research, as well as primary research, was useful to me as it showed that I had a feasible concept that could be developed further in to unit 13 where I would start to conduct tasks related to my business idea.
