routines can ' t feel like drudgery . I look forward to getting up early because I like what is ahead of me . I don ' t have a single mantra , per se , that I keep in mind throughout the day , but I do always remind myself of what ' s important . It helps keep my mind balanced and my decisions rational .

My Morning Routine ... By Jourdan Brown

I definitely have a love / hate relationship with the morning . I love sleep , but I am also my most productive in the morning . I generally need at least an hour and a half before leaving the house to get my day started off on the right foot . My wake up time ranges between 6:30 - 7:30 am depending on how early I am teaching my first class ( the weekend doesn ' t count .)
I usually wake up twice in the am , once when my fiance leaves in the morning to give him a kiss goodbye and then for real when my alarm goes off ( my least favorite sound on earth .) As soon as my eyes open , I look for my puppy Zuke who is usually sleeping right outside my door . I lay down next to him , give him a million smooches , and go downstairs to let him out . Then I

immediately make a pot of coffee , no messing around . Sometimes the thought of my coffee is what gets me out of bed . I know I should probably be having a glass of water with lemon but it messes up the taste of my coffee , and that ' s not acceptable . I put my coffee in the largest mug I can find and add whole organic grass fed milk , yum , yum , yum , yummmm ! While I enjoy my coffee , I start to make my breakfast . Breakfast is typically two whole eggs - over easy or hard boiled and two slices of nitrate , nitrite-free Canadian bacon . I let Zuke lick whatever is left off my plate . I call this my “ first breakfast .”
After breakfast , I continue to sip my coffee , and I start to make my lunch , which I bring to the gym every day . I like to make my lunch fresh every morning because I never know what I ' ll be in the mood for . Lunch is usually a BIG salad with protein or leftovers from the night before and a veggie . If you ' ve ever seen my salad bowl at the gym , you know what I mean when I say big . Eating good food is one of the greatest pleasures in my life . I don ' t eat skimpy meals unless forced to , and then I ' m usually cranky . My dad calls me the most dramatic hungry person he knows , and I can ' t really deny it .
By this point , I have to get a move on . I throw on my gym clothes and take Zuke for a quick walk around the block . Getting outside into the
fresh air makes my puppy happy and also helps wake me up and clear my head before my day . To me , there is nothing like being outside in nature and it is important to do that at least once a day .
When I get home , I say bye to Zuke , do a quick glance around my house to make sure everything ' s in order , and head to the gym . It takes me all of 3 minutes to get from my house to FI , which is definitely a perk of my job . I usually arrive at the gym and teach a class first thing . I LOVE starting my day with my workout and wouldn ' t have it any other way . It gets my adrenaline pumping and endorphins flowing . No matter how tired I am , I finish class energized . When I wait to workout in the evening , I tend to find excuses not to or have a lot less motivation , so it ' s AM for me .
After I am finished teaching , I have my “ second breakfast .” I head right to the cafe and get a protein shake . I use the Raw Vegan Protein and add almond milk , blueberries , Greens + Advanced Multi ( sold in Incentives ), Fitbiotic probiotic ( sold in Incentives ), collagen , and lecithin . I usually inhale my shake and am already looking forward to lunch .
The most important part of my morning is to start it on a positive note . That means good food and a good sweat . If I have that , everything else falls into place the rest of the day .
