The organic farming methods are not germinated from the failure of the green revolution but it is spread after the green revolution. Even before that at the time of prevalence of traditional farming in India the western world was behind the search of alternative farming methods. Twentith century witnessed huge development in the field of agriculture . Mental’s law of genetics has given huge contribution to the field of agriculture which helped in the development of new breeding techniques. Industrial revolution, invention of tractors and manufacturing of the nitrogen based fertilizers has given a new phase to the agriculture. Later the voices against these developments has lead to different alternative farming methods. We are going to analyse different alternative agriculture movements in the light of science. Biodynamic agriculture It is a form of alternative agriculture very similar to organic farming, but which includes various esoteric concepts drawn from the ideas of Rudolf Steiner (1861–1925). Initially developed in the 1920s, it was the first of the organic agriculture movements. It treats soil fertility, plant growth, and livestock care as ecology inter related tasks emphasizing spiritual and mystical perspectives.
