The 6A Kangaroos have the upper hand when it comes to fielding teams , meaning it ’ s a rarity that their athletes will play on both sides of the ball , though Sims acknowledges it could happen in a must-win situation .
“ We just have to be creative with prac- tice ,” Sims said . “ Our offensive and defensive coordinators do a great job working with each other and at the end of the day , it is about the team and making the team better , so those guys communicate . We are not asking the kids to do more than what they are capable of and so we do have some kids that will play both ways in certain moments that we need them
“ We just want to utilize their talent and it just comes down to situations where it is win or lose , we want to have our best 11 on the field .”
Coach Sims acknowledges that he landed in an already built situation that is perfect for him under previous coaches who have laid the foundation .
