MOTORING Peugeot 2008 GT line I think that it is fair to say that a vehicle is a success when it has produced half a million, and over 40,000 customers in the UK have purchased a vehicle, such is the progress of the new Peugeot 2008. It entered the UK in 2013 and now in 2016 at a mere 3 years old, it has received a little bit of a makeover, writes Bob Hickman. Nothing too dramatic, a new frontal appearance and other tweaks and several new models in to the line-up have been incorporated including my test derivative a GT-Line model. The 2008 is in the highly competitive and probably the fastest growing area in the car sales and that is the small compact SUV. To the initiated SUV’s look like 4x4 off roaders but they are actually based on small hatchbacks that have perhaps had an injection of steroids. It gives you a higher driving/riding position and I always find this reassuring with that slight extra height gives you better visibility when you are a driver and also your passengers have slightly better visibility. 40
