Heather Clark, a Frederick-area artist with degrees from both the Massachusetts
Institute of Technology and Cornell University, is spearheading the effort.
Clark’s vision, which would be realized with the assistance of volunteers,
includes an open-air theatre space for plays, concerts and other performance arts.

Another major component of the project would be “living sculptural landforms,”
constructed of sod, dirt and plant life in an effort to reflect the topography of
the Catoctin Mountains. This, according to the project’s Facebook page, would
provide a contrast with the visual of the ruined buildings. Volunteers, perhaps
children, could also take part in this aspect of the project.
