HIRING & RECRUITMENT Overview The following explores the potential presence of talent shortages within the establishments by analysing the employee turnover, job vacancies, hard-to-fill job positions up to future labour requirements. Figure 4.1 shows the summary findings about the hiring and recruitment situation among the establishments. Figure 4.1 Summary Findings for Hiring & Recruitment Employee Turnover Turnover rate is calculated based on the total number of employees who resigned over average number of employees within the establishments reported in NER 2018. The turnover rate was at an average of 20% across sectors as presented in Figure 4.2. Analysis by Sector Employee turnover was the highest in Accommodation & Food Service sector which reported an average turnover rate of 30%, followed by Other Services sector at 23%. The high turnover rate indicates potential retention difficulties and more study needs to be conducted to identify the reasons for such high turnover rate. 82
