8. EDUCATION & SKILLS LEVEL
Overview
Education and training are crucial for both economic and social progress, and aligning skills with the
labour market requirements play a key role in this. In an increasingly globalised and knowledge-based
economy, a well-skilled workforce is important for the establishments to compete in terms of
productivity, quality, and innovation.
This section discusses the initiative taken by the establishments in terms of education and training made
available to the Malaysian workforce. The section also examines the current skillsets that are required
of their employees across different job categories and industries. Figure 3.1 shows the snapshot of
findings for Malaysian education and skill levels.
