Bonus Payout
Two third of the establishments paid bonus to its Malaysian full-time employees. The average bonus
payout was 1.1 months as indicated in Figure 2.28.
Analysis by Establishment Size
In terms of establishment size, the Large establishments provided the highest bonus payout of
approximate 1.5 month of salary at median level.

Analysis by Sector
Financial & Insurance/Takaful sector stood out to be the more lucrative sector in terms of bonus payout,
at 2.1 months, and it was 50% above average. The lowest were from the Other Services sector, at 0.7
months. Overall, 8 out of 18 MSIC sectors paid their employees bonuses that were below the overall
average.
